Home Mortgage Disclosure Act

The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act requires institutions to report loan data by lending transacted and acquired each year.

This includes geographic distribution of loans and applications; ethnicity, race, sex, and income of applicants and borrowers; and information about loan approvals and denials. This data is reported to the institution’s primary regulator on an annual basis for loans and applications of the previous calendar year. If requested, lenders need to have the information available within 30 days of the request but not earlier than March 31st.
